Cap ‘N’ Trade

On December 7th, 2009, the Obama administration moved a step closer to regulating greenhouse gases. The Environmental Protection Agency said six gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, endanger the environment and public health. The move allows the EPA to cut greenhouse gases emissions without congressional approval.

Meanwhile, Congress’s cap and trade bill would gut EPA’s power to regulate greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act and instead create a multi-billion dollar market for carbon credits and offsets. This would turn hot air into a valuable commodity, but it wouldn’t do much to turn back global warming.

As the videos below explain, we can’t afford to invest in false solutions like carbon trading. We don’t have time to waste on distractions created by polluter lobbyists. Please write the White House and Congress to let our leaders know that you oppose carbon trading schemes and support EPA action to cut greenhouse gas pollution.
