I’ve been looking for something for a while now. I’ve got it. At least I’ve got it tentatively and I’ll jot it down for us to ponder. I’ve noticed, from my looking at the world, the seeming inability for any significant ethical type of change to take permanent shape. This is a little baffling because the majority of humans would like to see this change take place. So why doesn’t it?
I’ve thought for some time that it was the centralized efforts of a small group of well organized, well heeled, individuals who constantly worked in opposition to “good”. This is a real thing – but – why don’t the numbers work? Why do the billions (?) of people not get the changes they would like to see? If you were to take the law of attraction theory and test it on the global cause and effect result – one would have to say: Either there is no law of attraction, or, people want to fight, die, suffer, blame, scream and so on.
But there is, at least the equivalent, of a law of attraction. It proves out individually. I can change my conditions. Individuals change there conditions all the time. OK, I’m starting to get blurry now. Losing the thread a little. I didn’t want to go off on a law of attraction tangent. I just need a way to demonstrate that change is possible. So change isn’t the problem. Motive isn’t the problem. All people want to be happy. Motive has been discussed and the case is closed. Where is the block in the human psyche that keeps retarding our – what? – mental evolution?
We can make such wondrous technological advances – we’ve tele-ported a photon. We’re right up to star trek. As soon as we stop looking at gravity and relativity we’re going to be able to manipulate the physical properties of the universe and really go some where. What then? LA on L-5″ Anyway, here is what I’ve got so far.
The problem with the human psyche, or thinking, or ego, is it’s formed from memories. So thinking of ways to fix things always leads to another form of the same problem. It’s not the fault of any idealism. It’s the nature of our thinking. We repeat the same mistakes in different form. Over and over and over for thousands of years. The main mess in the memory banks is me this, you that. Me here, you there. Us and them. Mine and yours. A constant underlying current of conflict. It’s taught in schools. It’s expected in societies. It’s the memory of conflict and separateness. Apart-ness.
So you’d think, “Well, we just need to – do unto others…?”. We need to, “Love one another…?”. Isn’t that it? It’s still another form of separation (others). Still – if we did any of that, it could work. We don’t do it – even when we want to. The only way out of this “thinking” deal is by not thinking. We can never solve a problem by administering the cause as the cure. We can’t think our way free of what our thinking created. Not with the same thinking. It’s like a race mind, created with/by/through/from – out of – a historic race memory. Something like that. I’m convinced it’s our thinking that’s screwing us and memory is the key. It should get clearer now, as I’ve decided not to think anymore.
The last thought is this: History isn’t repeating itself because its the nature of history. It’s not the faulty nature of life. It’s the nature of faulty thought. The current human psyche. We are creating the past by thinking. We’re locked into memory. It’s confusing. But not insurmountable. I’m keeping an eye out for the “memory thinking”. If you watch what you think and see how much of it is memory – born – you’ll see what I mean. I’m still looking for one (thought) that isn’t. I’ve provided a mantra “Change the psyche – change the picture”. Yeah – that should help….
