Lately I've been having a lot more fun. I've been sleeping better and I have a goal. My goal, so far, has been to be as useful to the human race as possible and, by default, useful to whatever else exists in the universe. It wasn't a wholly satisfying goal. It lacked a final objective, it was just the best I could decide on at the time. Recently my goal has been extended to a more satisfying "completion picture". It no longer stops at simply being useful because that's what makes the most sense. It has been extended to "being useful so that we can ultimately do a specific thing".
If any of you have read my writings or visited my site then you realize that I have always had difficulty dealing with the two major "Origin of Life Stories". They being creationism and evolution. When I refer to creationism I mean the religions formed by the people who compiled the bible, censored religious intuitiveness and market their specific interpretations as the "Word of God". As for the religious evolutionists they would be those who would attempt to exclude anything but a "creator-less natural selection world". I see both these "schools of thought" as fundamentalist movements. I see no reason to believe that either one has the whole story. I don't even see either one as a particularly good story. Not surprising since they were both devised and created by people. On the other hand I believe both are right about some of the story.

I’ve always thought of that “gene story” as more of a religious work, the happiness gene is just a, hopefully eye catching title, for a very observable phenomena. People often wonder what motivates others to do this or that. It is not a great mystery.
Every person has one innate motive. It is to be happy. It is “universally observable” in all new humans. It is our instinct, our nature. It is the prime motive of all people. No person is without it. No person operates by any other motivational law. It is absolute. It is absolutely observable and unarguable. That part of the question is answered. Now we can move on to the variables. All variables are introduced via data.

First off, if you lived in Switzerland you’d have a civil duty to serve in the Swiss Army. I think this is just for boys – doesn’t matter – I needed a solid example of a civil duty.
In the case of a person born in Switzerland this particular “Civil Duty” is law. Citizens of Switzerland owe Switzerland this service and at some age the debt comes due. When the debt is due it is called a duty. At this point you have a Civil Duty – to pay. Is this a “Civil Responsibility”?
When anyone implies that something is your “Civil Duty” ask to see where it’s written (A Law, a legal debt…) and you might want to find out who wrote it.
Here the idea of Ethics can be looked at. There is a difference between “Personal Ethic” and “Morality”. There’s also a difference between ethics and ethic. But lets get to a place where we can look at “A Personal Ethic”..

The questions – who am I, where do I belong, what are we doing here, what’s the plan and so on – are universal to mankind and all cultures. People want to know what’s going on. People want to belong to something. People want to fit – somewhere – to have a place, a purpose.
All people seek relationships. Some people have relationships with things. They collect things. People have relationships with pets that are often more rewarding than the ones they have with other people. People do not like feeling alone and lost. People who love spending time by themselves, away from other people, don’t feel alone or lost when doing so. Some do and want to be part of crowded cities where there are lots of people.
Having lots of people around, or family and friends around, doesn’t always resolve the feeling of being lost, alone and without purpose.
