If you really want to lose weight then there are a few simple things you can do right now. These things will automatically result in reducing weight. It won’t be a battle – it’s what the body wants to do anyway.

The first thing to do is think about food like this: Food is grown. Doesn’t matter if we’re talking about plants, animals or insects. This isn’t a cult diet or a judgement on carnivore versus herbivore. Food is grown.

If it has to be made in a lab or manufactured – it’s not food – it’s a food product. There is no earthly reason for a food product to exist other than profit and control. So this is the first rule: Eat food, don’t eat food products.

Sugars: Never eat genetically modified, engineered sugars. The most obvious is high fructose corn syrup. It’s a food product – don’t eat it. Eat honey, natural maple syrup and so on. Read the labels. If you’re going to buy honey, read the label. If it says anything except honey – don’t buy it. Same with peanut butter, oat meal etc. Oat meal should consist of oats – period.

Your stomach: You should have trillions of bacteria in your stomach. Buy some, read the label, eat them – lots of them.

You need vitamins, minerals, amino acids and electrolytes. If you don’t have enough in your body – your body can’t do what’s best for you. Trust me, it wants to. It was designed to be healthy – too fat is not healthy. Too fat tells us we’re not providing the body with what it needs to function.

So what do we have so far? Never drink another Gatorade, don’t eat fast foods (any), provide the body with the basics – getting the basics from todays food, even real food, is problematic because we’ve pretty much destroyed the soil in which our food is grown. You want to make sure you’re getting enough electrolytes? Buy them – eat them. Same with every other needed nutritional element – if in doubt, buy some – eat them.

When your body has everything it needs to function properly (and nothing else) it will maintain a healthy weight – automatically.

Poor dietary habits can wreak havoc in your digestive tract by destroying good, beneficial bacteria and by allowing other less-desirable bacteria to flourish.

But even if you eat plenty of wholesome unprocessed foods like fresh raw vegetables, get plenty of natural fiber, and drink fresh pure water, you still may suffer from occasional gas, bloating, and indigestion.

If you don’t know who Liz Fowler is, she is the point person for the health care special interests, previous WellPoint VP, who as a staff member for Max Baucus had a key role last year in drafting the health care bill that not only made single payer dead before arrival, but also put the first and last nail in the coffin of even a weak public option. And now President Obama has tapped her to actually administrate the program that was designed to favor the big medical corporations to the exclusion of the public interest of the people of the United States.

How foolish were those who did not stand on single payer and stick to it like they were lashed to a rock. We are still pulling for single payer, we will never give up, and the caps that say so are still available from the return page of the action page above. At the same time the ugly real face of the sham health care reform bill is already showing, with reports that medical insurance companies are already pushing plans to limit health care choices.

The appointment of Liz Fowler to any administrative health care position would be a monstrous insult on top of the terrible injury we have already suffered by the passage of a health care bill that is nothing but an industry crafted and cynical scam. This is exactly the lobbyist revolving door Candidate Obama promised he would lock down. Liz Fowler must not be rewarded for her role in cheating the American people out of a real health care reform bill.

Why is it that people like Liz Fowler have a job, while good people like Shirley Sherrod get fired in a heartbeat at the first wrongful and dishonest right wing smear? The same people who deceptively edited the ACORN  entrapment videos were responsible for the hit piece on innocent USDA employee Shirley Sherrod.

And the true answer is that President Obama has absolutely no stomach for any fight whatsoever in the interests of the people. The word disappointment does not even begin to capture what has turned out to be a total  betrayal of the progressive base without which he could not have been elected in the first place. Outside of a couple of centrist Supreme Court nominations, not left wing mind you but merely centrist, the policies he has actually pursued have been almost indistinguishable from what we would have expected from another hard core right winger.

Time and again, where he has acted at all, it has been to kill anything progressive about legislation in  consideration by Congress. He commanded behind the scenes that there be no vote on any kind of public option, while lulling the public all along that he was open to it. But Liz Fowler who wrote the bill, representing the health care lobbying gorillas, did not want that, and Obama did their bidding alone.

The credit card reform bill last year was a feeble joke, doing nothing in fact to prohibit usurous interest rates. The just signed financial “reform” bill was likewise totally enfeebled, to not actually constrain much at all the behavior which caused all the problems in the first place. Case in point, at least 85 percent of the derivatives trading that the banks got into so much trouble with they can still do under the new law.

And at the end of the day, day after day, the root cause of the real problem remains, too much power for the corporations. That is why we will continue to push, with your help, for reversal of the heinous Supreme Court decision giving corporations unlimited rights to spend money to drown out the free speech of the people. We need an actual Constitution amendment to start to take our country back, and for that this movement needs visibility.
