Email From David Brown (Quackwatch Lawsuit)

I got an email from a David Brown urging me to remove The Bolen Report from one of my blogs. Here it is:

Name of sender: David N. Brown
Email of sender: davidbrown@openpagepublishing.com

I am writing to urge you in the strongest terms to delete all links to the Bolen Report.

Bolen has been making threats against myself and others supporting Stephen Barrett in a lawsuit files (I guess this is supposed to be “filed”) by Doctor’s Data, claiming that we can and will be added as defendants in the suit or otherwise targeted for legal action by DDI. While these threats are vacuous, I take them very seriously as an attempt to sway the outcome of the trial through intimidation.

Ultimately, they undermine DDI’s case by creating grounds for a mistrial. If you continue to link to Bolen, you will be supporting a criminal.

I responded with:

You mean, this Stephen Barrett?

Dr. Stephen Barrett of Quackwatch Exposed In Court Cases
From,  www.canlyme.com/quackwatch

At trial, under a heated cross-examination by Negrete, Barrett conceded that he was not a Medical Board Certified psychiatrist because he had failed the certification exam.

This was a major revelation since Barrett had provided supposed expert testimony as a psychiatrist and had testified in numerous court cases. Barrett also had said that he was a legal expert even though he had no formal legal training.

The most damning testimony before the jury, under the intense cross-examination by Negrete, was that Barrett had filed similar defamation lawsuits against almost 40 people across the country within the past few years and had not won one single one at trial.

During the course of his examination, Barrett also had to concede his ties to the AMA, Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

(I added)

David, if the things you say, are true, you don’t need to worry about what anyone else says. I always go with what I think might be true (at the time) and pass it along so people can check it out. If you’re making claims that aren’t true, talking negatively about others, or talking for money – then you just have to take whatever comes – same goes for Bolen.

Just between me and my readers, depending on who you ask, “I am a criminal”. The word criminal doesn’t mean anything to me until I find out how someone got the label and who gave it to them.

I didn’t have any idea who Stephen Barrett was before I got the email. Or maybe I’d just forgot the name, Doesn’t matter, I went and tried to find out more about what the whining  &  squabbling was all about. Found a bunch of stuff.

The quackwatch team has littered the internet landscape with snickers and fun poking – in the name of science and “I’m smarter than you-ism”. I always keep one thing in mind when I read things – who’s paying who? Also – does it work? If it’s real – It works. If you want to know if somethings real, you have to ask someones who’s tried it – done it. Then if you believe them – try it yourself – if you want to.

I have a real good audio here by Jon Rappoport on, Dr. Burzynski, Antineoplastons. (Antineoplastons (ANP) are peptides and amino acid derivatives, discovered by Dr. S. Burzynski, M.D., Ph.D. in 1967.)

I have the “The Story of Laetrile” on Video. This story is not approved by orthodox medicine. The FDA, the AMA, and The American Cancer Society have labeled it fraud and quackery. Yet the evidence is clear that here, at last, is the final answer to the cancer riddle.

Recently we had an article here on “Doctors Being The 3rd Leading Cause of Death in the U.S.”. What’s To Defend? If I bust my self up on the freeway – I want to see a surgeon. If I want to find out about Heat, Humidity, Muscle Cramps And Electrolytes, I don’t need to spend any money. I live in the information age. Once I get the information – I try it out. (Then I post it here).

If you know anything – for sure – feel free to comment. No paid commentary please, (But if you must, be man enough to tell us who your Daddy is) ….

Cosmetics Safety Database

Jane Houlihan is vice president for research at the Environmental Working Group and the creator of Skin Deep, an online cosmetics safety database. The database provides safety ratings for more than 62,000 products. See: www.cosmeticsdatabase.com

Watch video with Jane Houlihan at Democracy Now

We launched it in 2004. It contains safety reports for 60,000 products on the market. It’s backed up by government studies and testing that give you in-depth information about what exactly is in your products. When you get online and use it, you’ll find more than 500 products that contain ingredients that are banned in other countries. You’ll find a hundred products that contain ingredients that the industry itself has said are unsafe in cosmetics. And you’ll find that 99 percent of the products you find in our database contain at least one ingredient, and many times dozens of ingredients, that haven’t been assessed for safety by the FDA, by the cosmetics industry itself, or any other publicly accountable institution.

Personal Stories: Magnesium Deficiency

Crippled at Sixteen
        by Carolyn Dean MD ND

On July 12, 2010, I had a great interview on Death by Modern Medicine and The Magnesium Miracle with Deb Bailey that you can listen to at Power Women Magazine. (Blogtalkradio-Power Women Mag)

There were a lot of case histories and personal health stories discussed during the hour. After discussing magnesium deficiency as it relates to gall stones, heel spurs and kidney stones, Deb told me about her son. At age 16 he suffered kidney stones to the point of requiring kidney surgery! She asked if I thought that indicated a magnesium deficiency. The hair on the back of my neck stood up…and I told her, absolutely.

Most kidney stones have calcium as the base. They often form because there isn’t enough magnesium to keep calcium in solution. Calcium and magnesium go hand-in-hand. Without enough magnesium, calcium deposits in soft tissues throughout the body. Furthermore, magnesium relaxes muscles and nerves and calcium tightens them up.

After a stressful surgery, Deb’s son experienced even more magnesium deficiency symptoms. But nobody recognized them for what they were. Painful muscle cramping sidelined him from further participation in sports in high school. Today at age 18, he comes home from his summer job at a local fast food restaurant complaining of constant pain and stiffness.

My advice to him and to anyone else…. Continue reading: Drcarolyndean.com/blog
