Looking for a Meaning in Life...

This decision concerning the meaning of life is made by each individual at some point in the growth cycle. One option is to be told the meaning of life by another and confine oneself to being encapsulated within that persons story. It doesn't matter who the author is, if its not you, its not your story. Instead of the expansion of consciousness within life, one is confined to assigned boundaries. This is ideal, for the giver of the story, as it supplies him with subordinates and pleasures his controlling nature. For the confined it stifles the evolutionary potential for higher consciousness. The subordinate simply waits for the story to unfold: for the author to finish.

Higher consciousness, for this writing, can be viewed as a more constant consciousness. A lengthier period of self awareness. I have come to be convinced there are different states of consciousness. Although I seek them I don't really know what I have found. An overall sense that everything is OK? Probably something like that. Nothing resembling magical states, as yet.

The other option is to be the author. To gather information and collect all the available data. This data will come from observing how life works, by watching it. Observing yourself through meditation and paying attention. We'll want to examine the observations and ideas of every one who has come before us. Then, in a very real sense, write the story of mankind. You can't write the story of life. It would need a beginning and an end to be a story wouldn't it? That information isn't available. I suppose it could be a chapter in the book of life titled "things on earth". You can't assign a meaning to life. Well you can but it would be fairly meaningless. Life provides us with a place to develop. I know this because: we're here and we are developing. We are developing physically and our consciousness seems to be developing too. What consciousness appears to be doing is sensing itself. Is this the consciousness of life? One things for sure it seems to be going through a growth spurt. As we wake up to ourselves on this massive scale that we are doing now we seem to be noticing in everything, what we noticed in ourselves. We see that everything has the same qualities like energy, light, electricity. These similar qualities are everywhere in everything. Life is all things and all things at once. It's new science but it sounds real familiar doesn't it? Life is all that is. You have grown to be like it. That's why you sense it. That's why you know it.

At the level of consciousness which you have "now" reached you can literally make things happen. It doesn't matter what the things are. Destructive or harmonious, it doesn't matter. Remember the principles and the comparison with gravity? The same holds here: its nothing personal. You don't get to make stuff because you've been nice and followed some rules. You can do it because of what you are. The difference, in consciousness, between you and your dog (or any dog) is imagination. Your dog doesn't imagine a better world or wish it could fly. We create things through the pictures we hold in our minds eye. How does this work? I'm not sure, I don't know how to digest carrots either but that doesn't stop it from happening. So we make things by making pictures. We make things by expecting them to be. That's the principle of creation for us at this time. It's not complicated. You can develop this talent like you develop any talent, through practice.

People have been telling us: relax, don't worry, meditate, be still. All the disciplines that lead to more awareness and creative potential. Understanding the meaning of life is not an option for us. I think if we asked life what the meaning of life was it wouldn't know what we were talking about. Or it would know and tell us there wasn't any. We might get kinda depressed to hear this but if you were life why would you need a meaning? Meaning needs clarifying when we exist in a world of comparatives. This means this and that has this meaning. It's a way we assign values to things. It keeps things orderly so we can deal with them. If you were everything why would you ever think of compartmentalizing? What would be the purpose? Meaning also keeps us in line. It makes us malleable to the agents of destruction. We can be driven to kill those with other meaning of life stories. People like their stories to win. People feel "something" when their stories are right. If we knew that we were Life, if we were everything, what would we want to kill? Why would killing come up? What would we try to gain if there was only one? Sound kind of meaningless? Kind of boring? Why? What would it hinder you from doing? The only stuff we'd stop doing would be the meaningless stuff. You might still bowl. If you enjoyed it. People would still grow food. In fact I think that more people would grow food. It's fun. We'd most likely be off the ground in no time since there would be no point in killing ourselves for money. All the inventors that have over unity machines would be mainstream. We really don't have an energy crisis. There is no food shortage and the only reason we might get into overpopulation trouble is because instead of going to other planets and stars we're wrestling in the dust like animals. No black ops. Who would we keep a secret from? You see I could just keep going on and on for a long time. Isn't this a lot easier and more fun than that continuous meaning of life loop? It's very possible that this is going to take place in the near future. For some this no meaning idea will be like pulling teeth but it won't matter. No one at any time has been able to resist a change in consciousness.

For an interesting look to how this may be happening and what the time-line is, look at the references to the Mayan Calender on the Video page. That time line is fairly remarkable when set alongside scientific discovery. It is completely your responsibility to learn all there is to learn about what you are and what life is. In order to be the best possible "you" its necessary to observe everything very closely. Everything you see, feel, hear and especially think. In order to look closely at all this it is necessary to be in the best position from which to observe. This mental positioning is one of the most important aspects of seeing clearly. It is a talent. The best way to acquire and improve this talent is with meditation.

Embracing Our Infinite Potential

A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.
~ Albert Einstein, 1954 ~
